North Carolina legislators are back in Raleigh for this year's legislative short session.
The session started Wednesday, May 16.
On May 24, 2012, more than 50 members and supporters of the NC Sustainable Energy Association (NCSEA) tuned into an informative webinar, "NC Legislative Session Kick-Off: What You Need To Know," to get inside information on the energy-related issues that could come up during the session. Preserving Clean Energy Policy
NCSEA's lead policy team, Ivan Urlaub, Julie Robinson and Tom Bean presented NCSEA's legislative priorities for 2012 and discussed ways clean energy supporters can get involved to ensure the continued success of our state’s clean energy economy. Educating legislators about the recent advancements in our clean energy industry is vitally important. By sharing your success stories regarding the creation of thousands of jobs, business opportunities and renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, you can leave an impression on legislators.
Ways You Can Help Protect & Advance Clean Energy in North Carolina:
-
Become a strong voice for clean energy. Legislators need to hear from their constituents and business owners who are doing projects in their districts about the local benefits and successes of clean energy.
-
Help us maintain landmark clean energy policies such as the REPS, tax credits, energy saving building codes, etc. Unfortunately, some legislators want to roll back these vital energy policies.
-
Remember YOU and other clean energy supporters are our strongest advocates. Telling legislators about clean energy's economic success will help us get additional policies passed in 2013.
