This is your chance to see more than 75 homes, businesses, schools and government facilities featuring green building products and technologies on this self-guided tour in communities across North Carolina.

The Green Building & Solar Tour in Orange County, which is conducted by NCSEA in collaboration with community leaders and the American Solar Energy Society (ASES), educates citizens with the most up-to-date information on a wide range of green building solutions and technologies. Participants also realize that they have an opportunity to implement these solutions in their own homes and offices.
This local tour, which runs from noon-4pm, will feature homes and the state's first LEED certified high school. On this self-guided tour, you will see a variety of sites featuring green building products and technologies including solar hot water systems, photovoltaic systems, geothermal heating, spray-foam conditioned crawlspace and attic, daylighting, Energy Star and low-flow appliances, a cistern and other rainwater catchment systems, drought resistant landscaping and plants, etc.
Kick-Off Event: Carrboro High School, 201 Rock Haven Road, Carrboro. (Pick up your local tour guide, which includes information on the Orange County sites, addresses and a detailed map, the statewide Green Building & Solar Tour book, and other educational materials.)
