NCSEA's Networking Reception & Fundraiser at the Levine Museum of the New South in Charlotte on Tuesday, June 23 was a huge success!  The reception brought together over 250 of the Charlotte region's top energy, economic development, finance and community leaders who are playing a leading role in developing our clean energy economy, as well as NCSEA's policy and market development experts, local elected officials, representatives of state and local government agencies, educational institutions, community organizations, legal experts, and other supportive citizens. This turnout far exceeded our initial anticipated attendance of 125 people!

Due to overwhelming support by attendees who bought tickets and our gracious Sponsors and Partners, NCSEA raised over $13,000 towards our $20,000 fundraising goal for our new Charlotte Region Energy Leadership Fund. If you weren't able to make it to the Charlotte networking reception or if you want to help us reach our fundraising goal, please click here to make a tax-deductible contribution. (Note: please type "Charlotte Region Energy Leadership Fund" in the comments box at the bottom of the online contribution form.)

The funds raised at this event will allow NCSEA to increase our work in the Charlotte region, hire a part-time staff member (based in Charlotte), and ensure North Carolina becomes one of the top sustainable energy markets on the East Coast.

The Charlotte region is home to more than 150 energy-related businesses and has the potential to become a national leader in the new energy economy - but only if, we have the right legislative and regulatory action today to support the growth of the Charlotte region's sustainable energy industry and community energy projects.

Founded in 1978, NCSEA is the only non-profit in North Carolina that understands how to change public policy and drive market development in ways that create green jobs in a new energy economy, which we need in order to lead our state out of our current financial crisis. However, we cannot do this important work without your financial support.

The short program during the reception included an update from NCSEA's Executive Director Ivan Urlaub on the latest legislative action at the General Assembly in Raleigh, how it impacts sustainable energy businesses, and NCSEA's on-going efforts to ensure priority energy-related are enacted. Other speakers included David Swenson from the Charlotte Regional Partnership, Mecklenburg County Commissioner Jennifer Roberts, and Joel Olsen from Sencera.

Tickets for the Networking Reception & Fundraiser are $50 and all attendees are encouraged to make additional contributions to help us meet our fundraising goal.

Sponsorships for this event will greatly compliment individual ticket sales and will accelerate NCSEA's work in the Charlotte region much quicker - and Sponsors will receive positive visibility in pre-event publicity materials and at the reception.
