DUKE ENERGY RATE INCREASE (SB 559)

Urge your representative to vote NO on Senate Bill 559 because it removes ratepayer protections and will benefit shareholders at the expense of North Carolinians.

In Senate Bill 559, Duke Energy is trying to make the biggest change in electric ratemaking in more than 100 years. They want to raise rates without the usual ratepayer protections, and the "multi-year rate plans" that they propose allowed the utility in Virginia to over-earn more than $1 billion dollars.
