As NCSEA's General Counsel, Peter Ledford directs NCSEA's legal engagement at the North Carolina Utilities Commission and other policy-making venues. In this role, Peter aims to support and protect the fair rules that encourage clean energy market development, as well as those that govern how power providers set and recover electric rates. Peter’s work is critical in ensuring clean energy continues to penetrate and fairly compete in North Carolina’s regulated monopoly environment.
Peter graduated from the University of North Carolina in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Geography and from the Wake Forest University School of Law in 2011. He is licensed to practice law before all state courts in North Carolina and before the Supreme Court of the United States. He is certified as a specialist in Utilities Law by the North Carolina State Bar.
