NCSEA Statement on Racism in America

It has been one week since George Floyd was murdered in Minneapolis. NCSEA humbly stands in solidarity with all North Carolinians of color as they mourn the loss of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the thousands of other black and brown persons murdered in America whose stories we may never know.

On behalf of the whole NCSEA team, we are making a $5,000 donation to the NAACP. The NAACP works throughout the United States, including North Carolina, to dismantle systemic racism and ensure the health and well-being of all persons. With this donation we are renewing our commitment to educate ourselves, grow, and become better allies. We will directly invest in organizations working to advance the lives of black and brown North Carolinians. We will continue to prioritize our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion program. We pledge to actively and intentionally use our voice for good. We will keep educating our team about racial equity and systemic racism, because becoming anti-racist is a process of continual learning, and we have so much to learn.

We encourage you to join us in our ongoing commitment to being anti-racist, and supporting any of the following organizations:
