Making Energy NetWork Policy Forum
North Carolina’s CPIRP Process – What to Expect in the Next Carbon Plan
NCSEA has hosted a series of informative panel conversations and networking events throughout the year leading up to the annual Making Energy Work Conference scheduled to take place in November. These Policy Forums have been held across the state as a way to provide a preview of the content and network of professionals you’ll engage with at the in-person conference.
We will be hosting our final Making Energy Network Policy Forum in Cary, NC! During this Policy Forum, a panel of experts will cover what to expect as the North Carolina Utilities Commission begins the process of updating the state’s plan to reach 70% carbon emissions reduction by 2030 and net zero by 2050. In particular, the conversation will highlight the shortcomings of the existing plan along with the opportunities that clean energy experts foresee in the updated plan. In addition, we’ll cover some of the challenges, like transmission planning and the practicality of new technologies, that may impact how North Carolina reaches the 2030 goal and how legislation coming out of the 2023 long session could impact North Carolina’s clean energy future moving forward.
