Owen Smith has held a variety of roles across multiple facets of the clean energy industry. He served in multiple capacities over more than a decade at Duke Energy, including leading the renewable energy strategy and compliance functions for Duke’s regulated utility businesses from 2008-2013. Owen has also served as a principal at Rocky Mountain Institute, where he led multiple initiatives related to utility business model innovation, electricity pricing reform, and corporate renewable energy procurement. In his current role at Trane Technologies, Owen is director of Energy & Grid Solutions (EGS). EGS offers a range of energy services including energy procurement, energy risk management, and grid solutions that enable commercial and industrial customers to increase load flexibility to capture savings or revenue opportunities through utility and grid programs.
